h2. Dear OpenCV Student applicants

Computer vision/machine learning is fun and we always could use more help. We're looking for people who love the field and have experience in computer vision and programming (in C++, Python and/or Java). The goal of this application is to convince us that in the short time available in GSoC, you can accomplish a set task well.

We have posted ideas of priorities for OpenCV on our Ideas Page. You can always suggest your own project, but we have generally found this mostly works well for advanced students who:

* have published well received algorithms and want to implement it for OpenCV and/or
* have published well received papers and are implementing work they have focused on for their thesis and/or
* are implementing an important clearly developed algorithm in the field that is currently missing in OpenCV.

Please send us:

* Your resume
* Code samples you have written in C++ or Python or Java, or implementations running on cell phones.
* Pointers to any relevant public work --
** publications, mobile apps, web apps, data sets collected, open source, computer vision or machine learning youtube videos, blogs on a computer vision or machine learning topic.
* Which idea from the ideas page, or what project you want to work on.

h2. Dear Mentor Applicants

Most of you are already contributors whom we know and have personally asked to be mentors. But, if you are not from this group, please send us

* Your Resume.
* Pointers to any relevant work in computer vision or machine learning --
** contributions to opencv
** papers, code, prior open source work, web or mobile apps, blogs, books etc.
* you, yourself, should be a fairly capable coder.
* Some sort of "proof" that you can or have mentored students, employees, interns etc.

We want high quality mentoring. Make sure you are able and willing to spend the time (1-5 hrs a week) being a mentor how cares about the project.

*Thanks!*
